When I wrote last week that it was going to be a big week of weather, I honestly didn’t expect the main story to be historic wildfires in Southern California caused by the ‘kicker’ system.

As the influence from that system exits stage left, our attention now turns to the upcoming week. What are we looking at?

Quiet Start

There’s not much to talk about at the start of the upcoming week, with offshore flow in the gulf hampering any moisture return north. A chilly weekend is in store as snow melts across much of the region.

Offshore flow into the gulf means we’ll have very little to work with any minor atmospheric disturbances that move overhead.

Maybe Something Next Weekend

I’m not that confident in this just yet, but there are some signs on models/ensembles of a system bringing some moisture back north by this weekend (ahead of a major shot of arctic air). If some things line up, this could bring …
