When I wrote last week that it was going to be a big week of weather, I honestly didn’t expect the main story to be historic wildfires in Southern California caused by the ‘kicker’ system.
As the influence from that system exits stage left, our attention now turns to the upcoming week. What are we looking at?
Quiet Start
There’s not much to talk about at the start of the upcoming week, with offshore flow in the gulf hampering any moisture return north. A chilly weekend is in store as snow melts across much of the region.
Maybe Something Next Weekend
I’m not that confident in this just yet, but there are some signs on models/ensembles of a system bringing some moisture back north by this weekend (ahead of a major shot of arctic air). If some things line up, this could bring a low severe weather risk.
A Storm Chaser’s Secret to Picking the Right Storms
Have you ever wondered how storm chasers pick the right storms when there are so many to choose from? Never fear, we put together a video just for you on that very topic.
Toxicity Is a Choice
Every community has people who make it less fun to be around the good people. This winter, remember that toxicity is a choice, and you can ignore trolls online.
Paid Tier?
I plan to launch a paid tier for this newsletter next month. Leave a comment on something you’d love to see us do. I consider any paid offerings we do more like donations vs. subscriptions since we are running at a loss each year because this is more of a hobby for us all. But every little bit counts towards funding our educational mission. We’ll have some exclusives to be sure of, though, so look for the whole pitch on that soon.
In the meantime, if you have pledged a subscription already, be sure to check your details, and please cancel your pledge if your financial situation (or your desire to support us) has changed.
No hard feelings form us at all on that one!
