If you take a look at the Storm Prediction Center outlooks today, you’ll see severe weather risks outlined for today and tomorrow, as well as the day four and day five timeframe. Both of the latter risks will be associated with a robust system that’ll swing through the Plains early next week with winter weather.

It’s a bit too early to get into the specifics on any of the latter days, but a very low risk of a tornado is possible along the Gulf Coast today and into Florida tomorrow. This week/weekend’s action is pretty low-end, even for January.

Next week has the potential to be a bit more impactful overall, but we’ll have to keep an eye on it for now.
