Storms are currently forming over portions of West Texas right now. The storm circled in red poses a very short-term risk for tornadoes but will quickly evolve into a big hail only threat as the front/boundary surges south and undercuts any low-level inflow.

The storms to watch for tornado potential through the afternoon are likely forming in the purple circle west of Ft. Stockton. These will have longer in the warm, moist, and unstable surface air before the front comes through.
