Dense cloud cover blankets nearly the entire region as of 9:20 a.m. in the wake of last night’s tornado outbreak storm complex. Strong winds have been reported across the region as well.

This is all a sign of intense convective overturning, the type of which you’d need hours of sunlight to overcome. It is likely that we’ll see very limited chances of severe weather today. Still, there is a marginal risk across Eastern Oklahoma into Arkansas and a slight risk down by Texarkana where greater instability is building.

The team is likely standing down operations today. Our next chances at severe weather in our chase region looks to be Tuesday – Thursday of this upcoming week.
