Satellite is showing a couple of areas to watch for storm development in the next couple of hours, the most prominent being Northern Kansas. Some cumulus is trying to take shape on the dryline to the south, but it is more likely than not that storms will fail to initiate down the dryline into S Kansas and Oklahoma.

We should have a few storms in northern Kansas no later than 5-6 p.m. — if anything can go early, it will pose a tornado risk for at least an hour or two before storms cross into the less favorable air north of the warm front. The team is setting up in/near Emporia and will make decisions from there on today’s chase.
