We are entering that period we’ve been discussing where the ridge is weaker and its axis is located a bit further north. This will help push the jet stream away from the C/S Plains for a bit. It’s also going to help shove some cooler air south, which will enable a break from the extreme heat (right on schedule!). I still think any big fall severe risks on the C/S Plains come later in the month, or even into October.
