Snow is currently dumping across New Mexico and into the Panhandles early this afternoon. This system will continue to move east through the day, eventually exiting our region by tomorrow afternoon on its way to the eastern U.S.

We are expecting minor impacts across large portions of the region, with winter weather driving conditions possible as far south as Oklahoma City, Plainview, TX, and Roswell, NM. The toughest driving conditions will be across far Northeast New Mexico, where the heaviest snowfall will occur, but thankfully, this is a pretty sparsely populated and not as frequently used area in terms of traffic.

Snow totals of 4-8” are possible in the heaviest regions, with much lighter amounts surrounding that. A bigger system will be rolling in early next week.
