We are starting the morning off with widespread storms across the Gulf Coast region with tons of elevated instability in place thanks to a powerful storm system that is rapidly strengthening.
As the day goes on, that storm system will pull increasingly warm and unstable air north. Coinciding with wind fields that will rapidly strengthen, an environment ripe for tornadic cells will take shape.
We are monitoring the possibility of strong tornadoes within an Enhanced risk band that tracks along the Gulf Coast from Houston to the Florida Panhandle. The risk will rise through the day and will last through the night. So set those weather radios now!
