While the environment doesn’t look as primed for tornadoes (as of right now) for Monday, I can tell you it looks like an environment ripe for absolutely gargantuan hailstones.

Days like Monday are a throwback to a simpler time in storm chasing when you could expect all setups before April 20 or so to be mostly grungy, low-visibility, screaming storm speeds with little photographic quality if the dews were high enough. Honestly, it could be the best sign, yet our 2024 seasonal forecast is on track with a slow start to the year on the Tornado Count but a furious late April through June to make up for it. As it stands, Monday is going to be a day with a lot of severe weather reports with tons of storms in an environment that favors giant hailstone growth.
