A classic High Plains extremely critical fire weather risk is in place today from Southwest Kansas/SE Colorado into the Oklahoma Panhandle. Temperatures have warmed into the 70s with cratering dewpoints and strong SW winds. This is leading to very high end fire weather risks in this region. If a fire were to start, rapid spread would be almost certain.

Make smart choices if you live in these areas today and if a fire starts nearby, prepare for extremely rapid spread.
