The first day to watch for any severe weather potential whatsoever from this upcoming system will be on Sunday.

Cap City: The capping inversion, that dry and hot layer of air a few thousand feet up, will be pretty strong. Additionally convergence on the dryline doesn’t look that strong.

Wave Action? The question will be if we can get an upper wave of some sort to sharpen up the dryline and increase lift. If not, Sunday could be a very nice day on the Plains ahead of the main system ejecting out on Monday.

The bottom line: We’re not too confident in storms on Sunday. As far as a potential storm chase goes, it’s looking pretty iffy. But there’s still time for things to change as we move towards the weekend.
