A storm chase becomes a fiasco when the expectations are high but the results are low-end because of either the day not panning out or because of chase decisions…or a combination of both.

While rooting for big days to produce isn’t really what we’re talking about here, there is a certain amount of preparation and planning that goes into every chase — from a forecast to heading out the door to a target to actually chasing — that brings some sort of expectations of what might be getting ready to happen. When you end up failing in some area of meeting expectations you set out for a chase forecast, a day is definitely a fiasco.
