The words ‘marginally severe’ are never a good sign when discussing how a storm chase went. A dryline was set up north/south across the Panhandle with pretty strong shear — but instability and the cap were both limiting factors. Unfortunately for our forecast and photography desires, the cap ended up largely winning through the daylight hours on this day, with only marginal type of storms barely reaching severe levels.
