Instantly the book title hit me as something I probably wanted to read, because historical tornado books like this are always a treat to peruse through and discover. The book takes a look at the history of tornado research and folklore in America, concentrating on a few key personalities as our understanding of tornadoes continued to grow through the decades and centuries.
What hit me through the entire early sections of the book were just how little people knew about storms, the weather, and tornadoes for several centuries while living in America. Did you know that up through much of the 19th century, there was a large segment of people who didn’t even believe that tornadoes actually existed?!

When we started Tornado Titans in 2009, it was just myself and Brandon Goforth. Josh Ward officially joined our ranks in 2010 and Brandon Sullivan and Brett Wright became Titans in 2012. Now today in 2012, we’re looking to expand things in a bigger direction.
