Chasing the Haboob — Tracking Down Dust Storms in the Desert Southwest!

0 73

Today’s WiLD Weather takes us to the US Desert Southwest where we are hard at work trying to find the most fun word to say in all of meteorology: the haboob.

While it sounds like we’re calling someone something mean, Haboobs are really dust storms caused by the outflow from Thunderstorms. In this episode, we’ll see how they form and chase down a couple. One will be from our first trip to the desert in 2015 and the other from this past summer!

Also, we’ll have a lot of fun.
